Dr. Ian Munanura and Javier Parada from Oregon State University’s Department of Forest Ecosystems and Society College of Forestry visited Coos County’s wildly popular Whiskey Run Mountain Bike Trails this week. They are helping our county in providing an assessment of needs for those visiting the area who are drawn here for outdoor recreation activities – in mountain biking!
Dr. Munanura also explained to me that he believes that businesses in the county all tie together to support these needs and can become business allies across many industries.
This leads to economic development opportunities which translates to jobs.
Who knows, maybe we can grow an eco-tourism base from this assesement!
If ever you’ve visited the Whiskey Run Mountian Bike Trails system, please help us help Dr. Munanura’s effort by taking this survey.
Itty Bitty Inn is on Travel Oregon’s bicycling network and is located on Route 101, one mile north of the Mill Casino and a quarter mile south of McCullough Bridge over Coos Bay.
